There are no expensive haulage and container costs, and normally port and customs procedures are not too complex or time-consuming.

● LO-LO transport is a cost-efficient option as vehicles do not have to be driven onto the transporting vessel. It offers also the advantage of being available to and from any port in the world.
● LOLO vessels are equipped with cranes that assist in the lifting (for on-loading and off-loading purposes) of the vehicle or equipment. LOLO vessels have a larger container capacity than RORO and container vessels. This allows for more cargo transportation.
● However, LOLO shipping is slower and makes it a bit more complex to prepare than RORO. While RORO shipping services offer vehicle transportation by driving them on and off the ship, with LOLO you won’t be able to do so. If you are not in a rush to get your car shipped, LOLO is an interesting alternative. If you have strict deadlines then RORO will remain your best solution.

3. CONTAINER SHIPPING

Container shipping is the most common alternative to RORO to ship a vehicle internationally. Shipping your vehicle by container remains the safest form of international transport as your cargo is enclosed during all the shipping process. If you are shipping a luxury car, container shipping is the perfect option. However, cost is a little more elevated than RORO shipping rates.
● Container car shipping is a great option for most vehicle types, provided they fit into the ocean container alternatives: 8 feet wide x 8 feet high x 20 feet to 40 feet long.
● Container is also the best solution to ship your car overseas, if you plan to relocate to another country. Along with your vehicle, you can easily load your household goods and personal items inside the container, as there is usually plenty of extra space. On the contrary, with the Roll-On Roll-Off services all of your personal property must be removed from your vehicle and shipped using other methods.

4. FLAT RACK

Flat Racks are specific open top platforms where the vehicle is secured onto a metal frame before it is placed atop the water vessel. Flat rack containers come in 20' and 40' ft lengths.
